Museu da Imigração do Estado de São Paulo: Acervo Digital

Section titled “Museu da Imigração do Estado de São Paulo: Acervo Digital”
  • Hospedaria registers (livros de matrícula), searched by name (GET form): https://www.museudaimigracao.org.br/acervo/registro-de-matricula?nome=&sobrenome=<X>&nacionalidade=&chegada=<year>&vapor=
    • Detail pages: /acervo/registro-de-matricula/detalhes?id=..&livro=..&pagina=..&familia=..
    • Page images: /uploads/portal/acervo/livros/pdfs/L<livro>_<pagina>.pdf
  • Results (all NEGATIVE for this family):
    • Gagliardi: 151 records, none for Pirro, Maria or Teresa. The only 1920s hits are Concetta and Martha (11/11/1922) and Vincenzo, 31 (20/12/1927, book 101). None match.
    • Braccioli: 1 record (Guerrino, 1895). Not relevant.
    • Pirro (any surname): 3 records, none Gagliardi.
    • Variants Gagliarde, Gagliardo, Galiardi, Galliardi, Gaiardi, Bracioli, Braciolli, Bracciolli: nothing relevant.
    • All 125 Italian registrations for 1930 checked. Maria and Teresa are not there. In this index, family members often carry no surname. The 22/08/1930 Italian entries are only the Belluzzo/Isolani family (ship Mendoza) and the Hynek family (Austrian, ship Conte Verde).
  • Conclusion: the family did not pass through the Hospedaria, which is normal for “espontâneos” joining a relative.
  • The Museu’s own passenger-list section (/acervo/passageiros) has only Japanese ships for 1930. The far larger APESP list index (below) is the one to use.
  • www.arquivoestado.sp.gov.br (old site) is blocked by an Incapsula bot wall for scripts. The web.arquivoestado.sp.gov.br pages work.
  • Passenger lists, Santos 1888–1978 (search by ship/date): https://web.arquivoestado.sp.gov.br/web/acervo/solicitacao_certidoes/lista_passageiros_pesquisa
    • The lists are NOT name-indexed, so you have to search by date and ship.
    • FOUND: Mendoza, 22/08/1930 (indexed as “Mandoza”), BR_APESP_MI_LP_019172. See 1930-08-22_ship_Mendoza_passenger_list_transcription.md.
  • Foreigner registration index (1939–1984): .../solicitacao_certidoes/delegacia
    • FOUND: Pirro Gagliardo (1940), Maria Braccioli Gagliardi (1940), Tereza Gagliardi Justino (1965). See APESP_Delegacia_Estrangeiros_registrations_Pirro_Maria_Tereza.md.
  • Hospedaria register certificates: .../solicitacao_certidoes/hospedaria (same data as the Museu).
  • He is not in the Hospedaria registers under any spelling.
  • Passenger lists cannot be searched by name. The window is probably 1924–1930, assuming the twins who died in Vecchiano in Dec 1923 are Pirro’s children (see 04_family_members/children/twins_Francesco_and_Giovanni_1923). That is inferred, not checked here. That is too many Genoa→Santos lists to read page by page without a date.
  • Best lead: his 1940 registration card (cert 262920, reg 68955, FamilySearch “Brasil, São Paulo, Cartões de Imigração”, folder “Gagliardo-Gahwiler”, image 9) should state his arrival date and ship. It needs a FamilySearch login, or an APESP certificate order.
  • FamilySearch search for collection 2140223 (and other non-free collections) requires sign-in. Individual ark pages can be fetched.
  • Hemeroteca Digital (memoria.bn.gov.br): Cloudflare 403 for scripted access. Search Correio Paulistano 1930 manually in a browser if desired.
  • Arquivo Nacional SIAN (Rio passenger lists) requires registration. Not needed now: the arrival was at Santos.
  • MyHeritage name pages: JS bot wall. Geni: no profiles for Pirro Gagliardi, Maria Braccioli, or Gagliardi Braccioli. Tereza Justino: only unrelated people.
  • Find a Grave: no Pirro Gagliardi, Maria Braccioli, or Tereza Justino. Note: Pirro was buried at Cemitério de São Miguel Paulista and Maria at Cemitério da Saudade (from the death records); there are no memorials online.
  • General web search for “Pirro Gagliardi”, “Gagliardi Justino”, or “Gagliardi” + “São Bento do Sapucaí” found nothing relevant.
